Junaid Afeef

Junaid M. Afeef is the founding program director of the Targeted Violence Prevention Program. He has 25 years of experience working in various roles within the criminal justice system as an attorney and policy advisor. Early in his career, Junaid served as an assistant public defender in Cook County. At ICJIA, prior to leading TVPP, he served in several roles within the Office of General Counsel including associate general counsel, deputy general counsel, and acting general counsel. His areas of expertise include public health approaches to prevention of lone actor, ideologically inspired targeted violence and civil rights. Junaid is admitted to practice law in Illinois and before the United States Supreme Court.

Junaid Afeef is Director of the Targeted Violence Program.
